Daily Inspiration: Meet Shi la Rosa

Interview

It all started in a closet. Like, that’s where I recorded vocals for the first time in my life. Bedroom artists know what I mean. I still look back and laugh thinking about it. It all really started when I was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Rumor has it, they heard me singing through the ultrasound or something like that. I started singing so early it might has well have been then because I don’t freaking remember.

Talk (Make Up My Mind)

Write-up

There’s something special about CHO, Shi La Rosa and Delance’s latest. Titled ‘Talk’, not only does the production pull you in a piece by piece but you begin to understand the intimacy and vibrancy behind the lyrics and the vocal performance as it builds throughout the song. It’s a wonderful piece.

CHO x Shi la Rosa x Delance – Talk (Make Up My Mind)

Write-up

Indie-pop artists CHO, Shia La Rosa, and Delance, came together recently live on Twitch to dive into a collaboration that resulted in the creation of this jam "Talk (Make Up My Mind)". Soulful and fun, you get a glimpse of all three of the artist's styles while they demonstrate their spot-on vocals mashed together perfectly for this pop hit. All thanks to the fans who helped create this gem after giving the artists feedback while creating this track live on Twitch. An amazing example of how we can create together even from afar.

The Sesh | S03E03 - Shi La Rosa

The Sesh Folks were out one evening enjoying some incredible live music and almost immediately completely captivated by the night’s opening act….and just like that, lucky us. Shi la Rosa was booked into The Sesh. We heard some great music and had a great conversation from everything about her music – creating it, the influences that went into it, her love of strawberries, and even Shi la Rosa, the marathoner.

I covered this on my recent episode of Neon Broadcast, but it's worth mentioning again. The track came out at the end of last year with singer Shi La Rosa singing smoothly over Sink Slow production. Both represent Chicago properly. This one is perfect for rainfall.
